“Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” – Matthew 7:1-2 KJV
The spiritual door of judgments can be a difficult subject to discuss because there is some confusion on whether or not we should judge ourselves and others. According to the Bible, we as Christians are supposed to judge. We are to judge other Christians. We are also to judge whether someone is teaching or preaching false or true doctrine. Christians are not to support anything that goes against the Word of God. So, we have to be able to judge what is right and wrong. We are not to judge a person’s heart. Only God knows a person’s heart (1 Thessalonians 5:21, Proverbs 31:9, John 7:24, 1 Corinthians 5:12-13, 1 Corinthians 6:2-3, 1 Kings 8:39, 1 Samuel 16:7).
There are some Christians who take Matthew 7:1, “judge not” out of context and do not include Matthew 7:2. We are not to be legalistic when we judge, we are not to judge unlovingly, nor are we to be hypocritical when we judge others. When we judge people in that manner. We will also be judged the same way. Matthew 7:3-5, addresses that. We are to judge ourselves and others with discernment and using the Word of God (John 7:24, 1 Corinthians 2:15). We are to judge with love (2 Timothy 2:15, 3:15-17).
Having a spiritual door of judgments where Satan can bring chaos into your life is when we judge ourselves and others without grace and truth. God is the final judge. But, He still expects us to judge and it is clear in His Word for us to do so. Once we start judging people in a manner that is not Christlike. (John 1:14) That is when we open ourselves to be judged without grace and truth by others.
When Jesus judged people. He did it with grace and truth. He wanted people to have a better life. He wanted people to be blessed. He wanted people to have life and wanted them to have it more abundantly. He addressed the sin in their lives with grace and truth. When we are mean-spirited, hateful, condemning, belittling, hypocritical, constantly criticizing or using our own measure to judge and not the Word of God. That is when a demonic spiritual door of judgments can be opened. When that door is opened it can set in motion for a judgment you have made against someone else to become established in your own life. Until you repent and close that spiritual door of judgments. It will linger in the spiritual realm until something in your life triggers it to cause chaos in the natural realm.
