“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” – Luke 4:18 KJV
Did you know that a spiritual door of emotional trauma can cause mental, spiritual, and emotional damage to your development? Emotional trauma can hinder a person from experiencing a life of abundance. There are events that can happen in our lives that can traumatize us. Being abused as a child, rape, abandonment, betrayed in a relationship and feeling unwanted can cause emotional trauma in our lives that can cause grief that is so extreme that it becomes abnormal. That abnormal grief can open up spiritual doors that allow demonic influence to take control of areas in our lives.
Everyone is unique in how they handle trauma and grief in their lives. Emotional trauma can have a person in bondage. When a person has a spiritual door of emotional trauma opened, they may experience negative emotions that stay with them constantly. Their emotions will begin to dictate and take over their thoughts as well as choices. Some examples of someone who may have this particular door opened is a person who is always depressed, negative self-talk, anger or bitterness against someone for years and not willing to forgive the person that offended them. Someone that is experiencing some sort of emotional trauma may try to mask it with distractions, drugs, alcohol, binge-watching television or spending money on unnecessary purchases.
When a person’s spirit is weakened it can allow the emotional trauma they experienced to cause such a negative impact on their lives that others can begin to see the negative fruit that it produces. The longer the spiritual door remains open, the more likely the inner pain will surface outside of a person. It will no longer remain hidden and other people will be able to discern an individual is experiencing an emotional trauma that has not been healed properly. When we do not know how to guard our hearts and minds properly, it can leave an opening for a person to experience a spiritual door of emotional trauma. God wants us to be free from emotional bondage that can hinder us from experiencing a life of abundance. Understanding how traumatic life experiences can play a role in having a spiritual door opened, can help you get to the root of why you may be having a difficult time controlling your emotions in a healthy way.
Reflecting on your life and what you experienced can reveal areas where you have not properly healed from a traumatic emotional event that occurred in your life. A summary post-closing out the spiritual door series, will provide some tips on how to close any of the six spiritual doors that were discussed throughout this series that you believe you have open in your life.
