“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” – Isaiah 61:3 KJV

The Spiritual Door series discussed six spiritual doors that a person may have open that is hindering them from experiencing a life of abundance. The spiritual doors were disobedience (Romans 6:16), unforgiveness (Matthew 18:21-22), inner vows (Matthew 5:34-37), judgments (Matthew 7:1-2), generational curses (Exodus 20:5), and emotional trauma (Luke 4:18). When a spiritual door has been opened illegally, it comes from an outside source that a person has no control over. A spiritual door can be opened illegally, through lies (John 8:44), accusations (Revelation 12:10), fear (2 Timothy 1:7), doublemindedness (James 1:8) and the Word of God being twisted. The devil twisted God’s words to Eve in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3).

When spiritual doors are opened illegally, a Christian can use the authority given to them by Jesus Christ to close the spiritual doors. The Bible says in Ephesian 6:12 that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.  Ephesians 6:13-18 informs us that there is a way to protect ourselves spiritually. The armor of God is made up of six pieces of spiritual protection. The helmet of salvation, the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, feet shod with the preparation of peace, shield of faith, sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. We also, must stay close to God. When we draw near to God, we are more likely to submit to God. When we submit to God and resist the devil. The devil has no choice but to flee (James 4:7-8).

When it is opened legally, it is due to an individual or someone in authority over them such as a parent, spouse, or boss doing something that allows the spiritual door to be opened. Any spiritual doors that have been opened legally, will need to be closed to properly bind and cast the enemy out of our lives. 1. wow wow wow, it’s amazing how much I needed to read this. I was thinking about spiritual doors very recently. As a new Christian, I didn’t know that there was such a biblical connection to spiritual doors. This is confirmation for me that I am on the right path. Thank you so much for this post!
