“Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJV
Some Christians struggle in life because they do not have a consistent prayer life, or they do not know how to pray. Did you know that prayer is a direct way to communicate and fellowship with God? God desires for us to have a dialogue with Him.
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:17; that we are to pray without ceasing. In the Bible, it showed that Daniel prayed three times a day (Daniel 6:10) and others in the Bible had a consistent prayer life. Jesus, David, and Paul just to name a few, had a consistent prayer life, where they communicated with God via prayer. They also prayed on behalf of other people as well. The Bible says that we should not only pray for ourselves. We should pray on behalf of others (James 5:16).
When you have a consistent prayer life, it will help tune your spiritual ears to be able to discern what God wants to reveal to you as you pray. Being in tune with God can also reveal, that for you to receive an answer of yes. There may be something you need to do before God will answer your prayer. For example: You may be praying for God to bless you financially. When you are in tune with God during prayer, He may reveal to you that He will not bless you financially until you can manage the money, He has already blessed you with. God will not bless someone who is praying for a financial blessing when they spend their money irresponsibly.
Prayer is very important to the life of a Christian. When a Christian prays consistently, it will strengthen them spiritually. The more you pray, you will experience your prayers being effective. You will also draw closer to God and will begin to pray in alignment with His will for your life.
