Organizing A Quiet Time

“And they found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceable; for they of Ham had dwelt there of old.” – 1 Chronicles 4:40 KJV

  • First, decide on the amount of time you want to invest in waiting before God.
  • Take your Bible and read a portion slowly. Let it soak in.
  • If some words or verses resonate with you. Write those down.
  • After reading, let go, relax, and say to God. “Father, have you anything to say to me?
  • Learn to listen.
    • Pause, wait, and learn to disentangle your own thoughts from what God is saying.
  • Then speak to God in prayer.
  • Thank God for the answer.
    • He always answers whether, it is yes, no, or wait.
    • His no is just as much an answer as for His yes – sometimes even a better answer.
