“From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” – Galatians 6:17 KJV

Those of you who are parents, when you learned that you were having a child, did you prepare for their physical arrival? Did you get all of the items you would need to welcome your new baby into the earth? When your baby arrived, did it have a birth mark? Maybe a mark on their leg, a white patch of hair on the crown of the head, or a mark on their cheek? That mark on the child can help identify them. Parents, did you prepare for your children’s spiritual arrival? Do they have a spiritual birthmark?  Do they have a spiritual birthmark that is of God? Do they have a spiritual birthmark that is not of God?

Did you know that God prepared for Jesus’ physical and spiritual birth? (Isaiah 7:14-16. Matthew 1:18-25.) In the Bible, Herod learned that there was going to be a child born and he did everything in his power to kill Jesus by having all young boys killed (Matthew 2:16-18) , but God protected Him. Jesus had the spiritual mark of being God’s Son.

God knew to not only prepare for His Son’s physical arrival on earth, but He also knew He had to prepare for His spiritual arrival as well knowing what He was going to come against to be a sacrifice for the world’s sins.

We can have positive or negative spiritual marks on our lives that can either bless us or  come against us before we are in our mother’s womb or while we are in our mother’s womb. Speaking life over a child, speaking positive words over a child, speaking scripture over  a child, and speaking spiritual protection over a child can help keep them from not only spiritual attacks, but physical attacks as well.

 The example I shared about Jesus and with Jabez in 2 Chronicles 4:9-10. Jabez mother gave him the name Jabez because she bared him in sorrow due to the circumstances of his birth and he got to a point in his adult life that he called out for God to change his current situation, giving him blessings and expanding his territory. He also asked to be kept from evil and that it may not grieve him.
