Imagine you’re a gardener preparing a plot of land to plant a beautiful flower garden.

First, you notice that the soil is riddled with weeds (past traumas). You realize that if you don’t pull these weeds out by their roots, they’ll keep coming back and choking out your new plants. So, you start pulling them out one by one, just like seeking professional or spiritual help to address and heal from your past traumas.

Next, you need to prepare the soil, making sure it’s rich and fertile. This step is akin to the classes, conferences, and prayer sessions Dr. Reva mentioned. You’re enriching your soil with knowledge and spiritual growth to ensure that your garden has the nutrients it needs to thrive.

You then plant new seeds, carefully spacing them out and covering them with soil. Planting these seeds represents implementing what you’ve learned in all relationships, not just romantic ones, but with family, friends, and your community. You’re using these lessons to ensure your garden (relationships) are strong and healthy.

As any good gardener knows, planting seeds isn’t the final step. You need to water, monitor, and tend to your garden. This is about continuously applying the lessons you’ve learned and remaining mindful of how you interact with others. You’re nurturing your relationships, just like you would water and monitor your garden, ensuring that they grow beautifully over time.

And just as you seek help to understand the unique needs of each plant—some may need more sun, others more shade—you also ask for divine guidance to see people as God sees them, acknowledging that everyone has different experiences and needs.

In the end, your flower garden flourishes, reflecting the love, care, and effort you’ve put into it, just as your relationships will bloom when you plant, nurture, and tend to them with care.
