The Enemy Wants Us Doubting Ourselves

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. – Romans 8:37 NKJV

Has God put something in your spirit that has you stepping out of your comfort zone? Have you experienced self-doubt? You know that it is an amazing opportunity. You know that all good gifts come from above. (James 1:17) You know that God does not give us a spirit of fear; but of power, of love, and a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7) Yet, you are struggling with having the confidence in being able to fully shine in this divine opportunity of a lifetime that is just waiting for you to jump all in to receive those blessings that God has already prepared just for you before you were in your mother’s womb. (Jeremiah 1:5) Can I share something with you? Self-doubt is one of Satan’s favorite weapons. Ask me how I know. Okay, I will tell you. Satan did it to Eve in the Garden of Eden. It worked so well. He has kept it in his repertoire to deceive people from ancient times, to present times. He is deceiving you right now.

Satan loves to put thoughts in our minds that go against the Word of God. He is also like a research scientist. He observes us and our behaviors. He knows what will get us off course. He is not all-seeing like God. But he does roam the earth seeking who he can devour. He knows who he can put a stumbling block in front of to detour them from reaching what God has already promised them in His word (Jeremiah 29:11). You just have to be able to discern when Satan is trying to have you go through a battle in your mind.

When we do not fully comprehend the promises that God has already spoken in His Word. It is easy for Satan to trip us up. One of the ways that you can discern when Satan is trying to mess with your mind. Is by comparing what God has said in His word about you to what your carnal mind is trying to say about you. God says you are made in His image (Genesis 1:27 KJV). If you are made in God’s image. Why are you doubting yourself? Last I checked, God does not doubt Himself. God says that you are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalms 139:14 KJV). That means, He does not make junk. God says that you shall be blessed in the city and the field (Deuteronomy 28:3 KJV). No matter where you go, you are going to be blessed. The most important thing you need to remember is this. God will go before you (Isaiah 45:2 KJV). God is Alpha and the Omega. Having God go before you, you are destined to succeed in this new opportunity.

Here are some other ways to help build your confidence from a spiritual perspective:

  • Immerse yourself in the Word of God.
  • Prayer (Pray against self-doubt and lack of confidence).
  • Look up scripture in the Bible about confidence and meditate on those verses.
  • Ask God to give you sure-footedness (Psalms 18:33 AMP).
  • The more you speak out loud the Word of God, the stronger you become spiritually and the confidence you seek will hit you like a tsunami wave.

This post does not align with my Root of Bitterness audio series that I am doing this week and the post that will be coming on Friday to close out the series.
